At the International Exhibition and Convention Center of Geneva (Palexpo), the project involves the construction of a multipurpose hall inside Hall 1, intended to host various types of events related to the site’s operations, such as conferences and other gatherings. With a capacity of more than 5,000 people, this space will be able to operate independently or simultaneously with the opening of the Pavilion’s large doors. The project is based on a construction system using cross-laminated timber and glued laminated timber. This rational construction approach meets existing structural constraints as well as economic requirements, while highlighting the architectural expression of the load-bearing and technical elements.
